Overview of the ENKOline's Automatic Start and Stop Function
In the manufacturing industry, efficiency and safety are critical factors. To meet these demands, we at ENKOTEC developed the ENKOline's automated start/stop function. This cutting-edge feature aims to increase production line efficiency while lowering labour costs by reducing the need for manpower. We can guarantee a more efficient workflow and drastically cut downtime by automating the start and stop procedures.
Components of the Setup
- ENKOpayoff & ENKOfence: The ENKOpayoff feeds wire to the ENKOnail+ nail machine, ensuring a continuous supply of material for nail production. Around it, we have the ENKOfence, which is crucial for safety, allowing the line to operate without direct human involvement.
- ENKOnail+ Nail Machine: The heart of the setup, responsible for producing the nails.
- ENKOveyor: Magnetic: This conveyor system is equipped with an accumulation sensor that communicates with the ENKOnail+ machine. It ensures automatic start and stop based on the hopper's fill level, facilitating smooth nail transportation from the nail machine to the thread roller.
- ENKOroll Thread Roller: This machine is responsible for threading nails. It receives signals from the ENKOveyor: Smart Belt and goes into idle mode when the container is full.
- ENKOveyor: Smart Belt: This conveyor belt has an accumulation sensor that detects whether containers are full or empty. It signals the rest of the line to adjust accordingly, allowing for container changes without disrupting the workflow.
How the Automatic Start/Stop Function Works
The automatic start/stop function is designed to reduce downtime during nail production. The process begins at the end of the line with the ENKOveyor: Smart Belt, which has an accumulation sensor to detect whether containers are full or empty. When a container is full, the ENKOveyor: Smart Belt sends a signal to the ENKOroll thread roller to go automatically into idle mode, allowing for container changes without having to manually turn the machine off. As the ENKOveyor: Magnetic's hopper fills due to the thread roller being idle mode, its accumulation sensor monitors the fill level. When the hopper is full, it sends a signal to the ENKOnail+ machine to automatically stop producing nails to prevent the hopper from overloading.
Once the container is changed and the ENKOveyor: Smart Belt sensor detects this and sends a signal to automatically restart the thread roller, which then begins to pull nails from the magnetic conveyor’s hopper again. Once the nails are taken by the thread roller, the nail machine restarts automatically, and ENKOfence enables the ENKOpayoff to safely start feeding the wire to the nail machine again. This automated response helps maintain a steady flow of production without the need for human intervention, ensuring smooth and continuous operations. This saves valuable time and makes it possible for one operator to manage multiple ENKOlines at once – significantly increasing production efficiency compared to other in-line or batch production setups.
The automatic start/stop feature for ENKOline is a game-changer in nail production. By integrating advanced sensors and automation, we ensure that the production process is efficient, safe, and requires minimal manual intervention. This not only boosts productivity but also enhances the overall safety and reliability of the production line. As a result, nail producers can experience a significant reduction in downtime and labour intensity, making the next generation ENKOline an invaluable asset in modern nail manufacturing.
